Privacy Policy

Last reviewed: 2026-06-24

This page is a plain-English summary, reviewed by counsel before relying on it. It explains how we handle the data of our customers and site visitors.

Controller: [Legal entity - to be completed], operator of ecom-lead-database.com. For questions about this policy, write to contact@ecom-lead-database.com.

Two different sets of data - don't confuse them

We handle data in two distinct contexts, and they are governed separately:

  • You, our customer or visitor. Data you give us when you sign up, buy, contact us, or browse the site. That is what this policy covers.
  • Businesses referenced in our database. The companies and professionals indexed in the product are covered by a separate document - the referenced-businesses notice. If you run a business and want it removed, use the free self-serve opt-out.

What we collect from customers and visitors

  • Account & contact details: the email address (and, where provided, name and company) you give us to create an account, request a sample, or contact us.
  • Billing data: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers; we receive a limited record (plan, amount, status) needed to manage your subscription.
  • Usage & technical data: log data (IP, user agent, pages viewed) and privacy-friendly analytics, used to run, secure, and improve the service.
  • Support correspondence: the content of messages you send us.

Why we process it (legal bases)

  • To provide the service you asked for - contract (GDPR Art. 6.1.b).
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse, and improve it - legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f).
  • To send service and, where permitted, marketing messages - legitimate interest or consent, with an opt-out in every marketing email.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations - legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c).

Who we share it with (processors)

We use a small number of sub-processors, each under a data-processing agreement, strictly to run the service:

  • Hosting & delivery: Cloudflare (site, functions, CDN).
  • Payments: our payment processor (e.g. Stripe) for checkout and billing.
  • Email: a transactional email provider to deliver samples, receipts, and replies.

We do not sell your customer/visitor data. (Note: the separate referenced-business data is a B2B product - that distinct activity is described in its own notice and the CCPA page.)

How long we keep it

Account data: for as long as your account is active, then for the period required to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-handling obligations. Prospects/sample requests: a limited period, then deleted or anonymised. Logs: a short rolling window for security.

International transfers

Some processors may handle data outside your country. [International transfers - mechanism to be completed: e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses / adequacy.] Where transfers occur, we rely on an appropriate safeguard before relying on this policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, and to withdraw consent. See the dedicated GDPR and CCPA pages for region-specific rights and how to exercise them.
